This isn\u2019t the case, though. It\u2019s a matter of being able to schedule your life to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/3-tips-for-productivity\/\">optimize productivity<\/a> no matter what your natural tendency is \u2013 early bird or night owl!<\/p>\n<h2>How To Plan For\u00a0Peak Productivity<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lifehacker.com\/master-your-body-clock-to-eat-sleep-and-work-more-e-890410373\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Understand your own rhythm<\/a> \u2013 are you perky in the morning and sluggish in the afternoon? Brain racing late nights? Figure out your best (and worst) times for productivity.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule routine, less-engaging tasks for when your energy is lower. If your best ideas come at night, plan for that.<\/li>\n<li>Batch together like tasks that take similar amounts of energy. Or, if things like meetings and phone calls tend to be draining, plan tasks between that will not require much of an expenditure of energy and allow you to recharge.<\/li>\n<li>Tackle complex tasks when you\u2019re at your peak, whether first thing in the morning or late at night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">Make Prioritizing a Priority<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan your day when you\u2019re unhurried and fresh.<br \/>\nWhat will take you the longest and how much energy will it take? Plan accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule things (as much as possible) to match your productivity peaks and valleys.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule time for yourself<br \/>\nTreat that time just as seriously as any other appointment. If you\u2019re REALLY busy, you may need to schedule breaks. Put them as appointments in your calendar if you need to. Sometimes walking away for 10-15 minutes can give you the mental break you need to see a task with new eyes when you return.<\/li>\n<li>Two-minute tasks<br \/>\nAs a general rule, if something will take two minutes or less, just go ahead and do it now. You\u2019ll have the satisfaction of checking it off your list and it will be done instead of forgotten or looming over you.<\/li>\n<li>Five-minute tasks<br \/>\nHave a list of tasks that take 5 minutes or so. When you\u2019re between calls or after you wrap up a project but find it\u2019s not QUITE time to call it a day, you\u2019ll then have a list of quick things that need doing.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/implement-idea-to-generate-income\/\">Do a \u201cbrain dump\u201d<\/a><br \/>\nWrite down all the little thoughts floating around in your head that are distracting you or nagging at you. This gets them out of your head and (if appropriate) on your active \u201cto-do\u201d list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">Revel in Routines<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Even if you consider yourself a spontaneous person, there is comfort (and productivity) to be found in a routine.<\/li>\n<li>Routines don\u2019t have to be boring.<br \/>\nIf you can listen to some music while emptying your email box it can help make that time something you look forward to rather than something you dread.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/learn-how-to-delegate\/\">Can it be Delegated?<\/a><br \/>\nIf you find yourself procrastinating and not completing a certain task, consider whether it\u2019s something that can be delegated.
