These services use Bluetooth technology to connect with any mobile devices that are connected to their system, sending special offers as soon as the customer comes within a certain radius of your store.<\/p>\n

Facebook Local Awareness Ads<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Never a platform to be left behind, Facebook has taken proximity marketing into their own hands, and has created an ad-creation option for companies interested in proximity marketing, and they\u2019re calling them \u201cLocal Awareness Ads<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like the Bluetooth proximity ads, Local Awareness ads show up when the customer is within a predetermined radius from your location. This works only for customers who have their Facebook locations set to \u201con.\u201d<\/p>\n

Why Proximity-Based Ads?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Proximity marketing is not only bringing more closely-targeted customers to companies, but in doing so, they\u2019re really increasing these companies\u2019 ROI. By only paying for ads that are going to prospective customers, your advertising budget can be stretched a lot further. This is especially true for SMEs that have only one location \u2013 if you\u2019re in San Francisco, why should you pay for someone in New York to click your ad?<\/p>\n
