In this post title, I asked the question “Are you thankful or thinkful?\u201d I purpose they are connected and being thankful isn’t just something you do once or twice a year on a holiday, but something you should do every day.<\/p>\n

Thinkful<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When you think about someone or something beside yourself<\/p>\n

Thankful<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When you are thankful for something you have received or others have done for you<\/p>\n

Do you see the connection?<\/strong> In both scenarios, you are thinking and reflecting upon others\u2019 goodness verses your own.<\/p>\n

7 Ways to Be More Thinkful Year Round<\/h2>\n

T<\/span> Take<\/strong> the time to reflect on what you are thankful for<\/p>\n

H<\/span> Help<\/strong> others to succeed<\/p>\n

I<\/span> Inquire<\/strong> on how others are doing and what you can do to help them<\/p>\n

N<\/span> Never<\/strong> do something that hurts someone else<\/p>\n

K<\/span> Keep<\/strong> your integrity by always being honest<\/p>\n

F<\/span> Find<\/strong> new ways to contribute to the community<\/p>\n

U<\/span> Understand<\/strong> you don’t have to be right all the time<\/p>\n

L<\/span> Love<\/strong> others unconditionally<\/p>\n

Of course, there are many ways you can define \u201cthankful\u201d or \u201cthinkful.\u201d You might have noticed \u201cthinkful\u201d isn\u2019t even a real word, but one I made up. That is ok with me and I hope it is ok with you. (Read Wikipedia\u2019s definition of Thankfulness<\/a>. It is quite interesting.)<\/em><\/p>\n

One of my goals has always been to help others succeed, and being thinkful is just one way that I can make sure what I am doing in my life and work aligns with the goal.<\/p>\n

One way I do this is to continually be watching out for opportunities to support<\/a> those in my circle of influence. And when I say circle of influence, I am not referring to the big wig down the street, the who\u2019s who of my industry, but those that are experts in their fields. How popular they are or how much influence or affluence they have doesn\u2019t matter to me.<\/p>\n

I have countless success stories <\/a>I could share relating to this. I will share just one today:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was on Facebook and a major player in the social media industry made a simple post that he would like to be connected with someone doing something unique on a specific social media platform. I commented on the post with a few words \u201cJane Doe does a series on this topic.\u201d He immediately reached out to her privately and scheduled her for his series. From that interview she got the opportunity to present at an international conference on the topic, multiple other conferences and now is a expert contributor on a blog relating to this topic. (Names and networks have been removed for anonymity.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Every time she sees me she thanks me profusely. The fact is her success is my success<\/em><\/strong>. It thrills me to no end to know that my paying attention and making one simple comment made such a difference in her life and business.<\/p>\n
