A few years ago I wrote about being thinkful<\/em><\/a> versus simply being thankful<\/em>. And today it seems just as important to write about \u201cThinksgiving.\u201d<\/p>\n

As business owners, during this time of year we seem to shift our focus from serving our current customers to the strategies that will deliver new customers in the New Year.<\/p>\n

While you definitely do need to focus on the coming year\u2019s marketing initiatives and the products or services you\u2019ll be offering, you absolutely cannot afford to neglect your current clients and projects!<\/p>\n

Before moving to the tips, I have a confession to make.\u00a0When I was about to hit publish on this article\u00a0I realized I wrote about “Thinksgiving<\/a>” last year. Oopsie! But It was centered around “Thinks” and “Giving”.\u00a0Please give\u00a0both of these a read. After all, It’s Thinksgiving. The more you grow, the better you’ll be at serving your current and future customers.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Thinksgiving Tips to Show You Are Thinkful \u2013 and Thankful<\/h2>\n

T<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Tools<\/span><\/p>\n

Share your favorite tools with customers. Look for affordable alternatives that are priced for the budget of SMBs.<\/p>\n

H<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0How-To<\/span><\/p>\n

Now\u2019s a great time to create or revise a \u201chow-to\u201d on a topic that pertains to customer interests. (And remember, people love infographics.)<\/p>\n

I<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Ideas<\/span><\/p>\n

Share fresh ideas to help customers improve their bottom line. This could be a marketing strategy, or even a way to optimize efficiency.<\/p>\n

N<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Narrow<\/span><\/p>\n

Examine your focus and if needed, narrow it to ensure that you stay on-target for your customers.<\/p>\n

K<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Knowledge<\/span><\/p>\n

Beef up your knowledge base and create resources to help customers learn how to master complicated processes.<\/p>\n

S<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Support<\/span><\/p>\n

Determine the areas where your customers need help in order to better serve and support their own customers.<\/p>\n

G<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Goals<\/span><\/p>\n

Review internal and external goals with an eye on the customer perspective.<\/p>\n

I<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Integrate<\/span><\/p>\n

Are there processes and procedures that could be integrated to save time and money? If so, integrate if possible!<\/p>\n

V<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Voice<\/span><\/p>\n

Voice your thoughts. Reach out and literally let your customers know that you care.<\/p>\n

I<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Inspire<\/span><\/p>\n

People power the business, so inspire them with a can-do, optimistic (yet realistic) attitude \u2013 and yes, with gratitude too.<\/p>\n

N<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Navigate<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s your chosen destination? To navigate efficiently, chart the course carefully to reach the desired port-of-call.<\/p>\n

G<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 Grow<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep growing both personally and professionally! How? Continue to learn, to act, to respond and review. And remember, measure those outcomes\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThinksgiving\u201d Can Be a Winner for You and Your Customers<\/h2>\n

Being thinkful <\/em>is only the start to growing your business, and your clients\u2019 businesses as well. Now, it\u2019s time to go celebrate Thinksgiving! Best wishes for a great feast and fellowship. And then \u2013 go do some thinking!<\/p>\n
