One of the things we discuss frequently in business is setting goals<\/a> and making a plan to achieve them. It\u2019s an important aspect of business success, but seldom do you hear anyone talk about exactly how to set a goal and to make progress reaching that goal.<\/p>\n

Getting Started with Goal Setting<\/h2>\n

Goal setting seems to be something that people assume you just know how to do. The bad news is that great goal setting is not something you innately know. The good news is that it is something you can learn.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ll recall, I wrote a live-blog at the Rocks Digital Marketing Conference about Dean Lindsay\u2019s Rocks Talk regarding Big PHAT goals<\/a> (which he has written a book about). Now that I\u2019ve had the opportunity to read his book, I\u2019d like to share some of what I learned.<\/p>\n

I can hear you saying, \u201cBut, I\u2019ll remember my goals. They\u2019re important to me. I don\u2019t need to write them down!\u201d But yes, you do.<\/p>\n
