But did you realize that every page and every main section should have what is in essence a call to action?<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s right. The\u00a0Home Page, the\u00a0Product and Services Pages, and even the\u00a0About Us page should all have a Call To Action. These CTA types may be Read More, Subscribe to Email, Follow on Social, or even Buy Now.<\/p>\n<p>But before I dig into the &#8220;how to&#8221;, permit\u00a0me to wax philosophical.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>\u201cBuy land \u2014 they\u2019re not making any more of it.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Twain<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Or, moving from print to stage and film:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>\u201cAlways be closing.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Blake, \u201cGlengarry Glen Ross\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Those quotes above are both classics \u2014 used by real estate pros, salespeople, and pretty much millions of people. But what do they have to do with your website? Plenty.<\/p>\n<p>The first quote has been attributed to Twain, Will Rogers and many others. Whoever said it, the fundamental idea is the true value of real estate \u2014 and how there\u2019s a finite amount of space available. And the same goes for your website! (Ah, there\u2019s the connection to our topic.)<\/p>\n<h2>Website CTAs Are a Must to Convert<\/h2>\n<p>Every pixel of your website can (and should) have a purpose. And while each page of the site has a different purpose, <strong>there\u2019s one thing that every page of your website must have: a <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/what-is-call-to-action-faqs-ht\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">call to action<\/a><\/strong>. (Or more.)<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where our second quote comes in. Because the best possible outcome of a visit to your website is&#8230;? Yes, a purchase.<\/p>\n<p>So in essence, your website needs to \u201calways be closing.\u201d A good CTA will help you do that \u2014 so here are some CTA ideas for the most important pages of your site:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">The Homepage<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of visitors to a\u00a0website land on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/website-homepage\/\">homepage<\/a>, or frequently\u00a0referred to as home. They just searched for something that led them to you, or they saw your URL somewhere; no matter why they\u2019re on your site, the important thing is they\u2019re <em>there<\/em> \u2014 and most likely interested in finding out more about your business.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"calloutred\"><em>CTA ideas for the homepage:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Click to read more<\/strong> = You can use lots of these, actually. Every content section on your homepage should probably link somewhere else within your site. (This is called making your site \u201csticky.\u201d)\u00a0<em>PRO TIP: You don\u2019t have to actually say \u201cClick here for ___\u201d \u2014 it\u2019s wasting words and space. <\/em>Most people see a underlined link and know it\u2019s clickable. Some good examples\u00a0that don\u2019t overtly say \u201cclick here\u201d but get the point across are:\u00a0Find out more,\u00a0Read more here,\u00a0Discover our full product line,\u00a0and the all time favorite,\u00a0Contact us today!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subscribe for email updates<\/strong> = Having a small widget\/block with a line or two of copy and a box where visitors can provide their email is <em>hugely <\/em>valuable for building your prospect list. You definitely need one on your homepage (and maybe even one on every page of your site).\u00a0<em>PRO TIP: Make sure you let them know in that brief sentence or two that you won\u2019t be \u201cbothering\u201d them and stuffing their inbox with constant emails.<\/em> Promise to treat their inbox like it\u2019s your own!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Contact us<\/strong> = Maybe the visitor came to your site to find a way to ask you a question; make sure they have at least one way to contact you immediately. Which leads us to&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Connect on social <\/strong>= A must-have on your homepage and Contact Us pages. Giving visitors a chance to connect with you is another way they\u2019re letting you into their life, and enabling that access could turn them into a loyal customer.<em>PRO TIP: Consider having your social icons\/links included in your top and\/or bottom navigation bar\/menu, throughout your entire website.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">The\u00a0Products\/Services Page<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is where you have your most important content, and hopefully visitors land here to learn more about what you offer \u2014 more details about your products\/services, and maybe even your pricing if they\u2019re really interested. <em>(Need more ideas? Can\u2019t hurt to have \u201cShare on social\u201d links by each product\/service name and description.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">The\u00a0\u201cAbout Us\u201d Page<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is a unique page \u2014 visitors coming here are curious about why your company is special or why you exist. Or they\u2019re really interested in you (and your leadership team), possibly seeking validation for their potential decision to spend money with you. (\u201cThey\u2019re good people, I\u2019ll buy from them!\u201d No matter the reason they\u2019re on this page, you still want to give them clickable options to continue their journey.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"calloutred\"><em>CTA ideas for the\u00a0about us main page:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Click to read more<\/strong> = You might have sub-pages with your bio and those of your partners\/high-level staff, or perhaps more content about your company (such as a \u201cTestimonials\u201d or \u201cGiving Back\u201d sub-page).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact us<\/strong> = In addition to the usual link to your Contact Us page, you could include email addresses for you and your team. Providing your direct business emails shows a unique transparency and friendly attitude that goes far beyond a professional headshot and corporate bio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"callout\">The\u00a0\u201cContact Us\u201d Page<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Good People: If you have a visitor on this page, it\u2019s Go Time. All hands on deck. Your golden opportunity to get them to act. PLEASE \u2014 give them multiple options so they find the one they prefer.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"calloutred\"><em>CTA ideas for the\u00a0contact us main page:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Information section<\/strong> = List out every bit of contact info about you, and make as much of it clickable as possible, without feeling spammy. Some good examples of things to include are: Name of the company, plus the\u00a0address, and phone number <em>(also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/nap-consistency\/\">referred to as NAP data<\/a>);\u00a0<\/em>Ownership info <em>(link to &#8220;About Us&#8221; or owner bio)<\/em>; Other\u00a0locations contact information; Social media links; General \u201cinfo\u201d email address; and any other way you\u2019d like to be contacted!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Contact form<\/strong> = Give your visitor the ability to provide you with contact information, but don\u2019t ask for their Social Security number and shoe size. Keep it to Name, Address, Phone, Fax (yes, just in case), Email, and have a text box where they can send you a message. Promise that you\u2019ll read all messages within 24-48 hours, too.\u00a0<em>PRO TIP: Consider making most of those fields \u201coptional\u201d and stick to having Name and Email as mandatory. More than ever, people are being careful about what information they share on the internet. Let\u2019s be considerate.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To sum up, take advantage of every precious pixel of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksdigital.com\/10-website-tips\/\" rel=\"noopener\">business website<\/a> and make them work for you.
