Since the talks were quick, I&#8217;m going to try and make my blog about them equally pithy.<\/p>\n<p>The charming <a href=\"\/elayna-fernandez-rocks-digital-2016\/\"><strong>Elayna Fernandez<\/strong><\/a> was our first Rock Talker and she had a fairy-tale for us&#8230; or at least some ideas on how we can all live our &#8220;fairy-tale&#8221; life (Life IS A Fairy Tale\u00a9 \u2013 5 Principles To LIVE Your Magic Life).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To live a different life &#8211; learn a new language &#8211; the language of POSITIVE THINKING!<\/li>\n<li>Instead of a to-do list, make a to-be list (hint: being a more positive person should be on your to-be list).<\/li>\n<li>To live a fairy-tale life you must have VISION &#8211; Cinderella envisioned a better life which helped her to know what she wanted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You need to be prepared, have faith, believe in your vision, be diligent and have discipline. Those things plus positive thinking and a positive attitude will put you on the path to your very own fairy-tale life!<\/p>\n<p>Now that we were all rocking our tiaras, <a href=\"\/eve-mayer-rocks-digital-2016\/\"><strong>Eve Mayer<\/strong><\/a> took the stage and talked about hyper-transparency and social care.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Truth #1 \u2013 Companies are made of people, people aren\u2019t perfect, so no company is going to be perfect and that\u2019s ok.<\/li>\n<li>Truth #2 \u2013 The leading retail brands respond to direct questions in an average of 157 minutes, but the customer EXPECTATION is less than an hour.<\/li>\n<li>Truth #3 \u2013 You can&#8217;t force people to use a social media platform that they don&#8217;t like.<\/li>\n<li>Truth #4 \u2013 The internet never sleeps \u2013 social care needs to be 24\/7.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Millennials (well, actually, it\u2019s <em>NOT<\/em> just millennials &#8211; it applies to other demographics, as well)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lower tolerance for slow response times<\/li>\n<li>More tech savvy<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t want to be ignored<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you can say to your clients &#8216;We are going to screw up, we\u2019re not going to lie to you, we\u2019re not going to hide it, we\u2019re going to tell you and we\u2019re going to fix it&#8217; and really MEAN it, you&#8217;re on the right path. This is Eve&#8217;s company&#8217;s philosophy, should it be your company&#8217;s philosophy as well?<\/p>\n<p>We stepped next into social selling with <a href=\"\/patty-farmer-rocks-digital-2016\/\"><strong>Patty Farmer<\/strong><\/a> who shared a killer quote right off the bat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The modern consumer is digitally driven, socially connected and mobile empowered&#8221; \u2013 Jill Rowley<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>74% of today&#8217;s B2B buyers conduct research online.<\/li>\n<li>By 2020 customers will manage 85% of their interactions with a company without interacting with a human.<\/li>\n<li>Social sellers realize a 66% quota attainment.<\/li>\n<li>Buyers who use social media have 84% larger budgets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Social selling is about <em><strong>building relationships<\/strong><\/em> as part of the sales process &#8211; if relationships are the currency in today\u2019s business environment, how fat is your wallet? Remember, the key is to SERVE not sell.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1 \u2013 Know your ABCs\u00a0 (<strong>A<\/strong>lways <strong>B<\/strong>e <strong>C<\/strong>onnecting).<\/li>\n<li>Step 2 \u2013 Know your audience.<\/li>\n<li>Step 3 \u2013 Provide relevant content and value consistently.<\/li>\n<li>Step 4 \u2013 Collaboration vs. competition.<\/li>\n<li>Step 5 \u2013 Create social offers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The only difference between a contact and a contract is the \u201cR\u201d and the \u201cR\u201d is RELATIONSHIP!<\/p>\n<p class=\"notranslate slideshow-title-text\">By this point, I have to admit that my brain was pretty crammed full of things to think about, but along came <a href=\"\/mark-traphagen-rocks-digital-2016\/\"><strong>Mark Traphagen<\/strong><\/a> to share t<span class=\"j-title-breadcrumb\">he best SEO strategy you didn&#8217;t know was an SEO strategy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"notranslate slideshow-title-text\">On Site\/Page Optimization<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"notranslate slideshow-title-text\">Provide excellent, relevant content<\/li>\n<li class=\"notranslate slideshow-title-text\">Provide expertise\/authority\/trust<\/li>\n<li>Great brand = superior products + awesome customer service + unexpected delight<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Connect people to what matters to them<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And the Rock Talks wrapped up with <a href=\"\/now-new-next-in-mobile\/\"><strong>Lance Bachmann<\/strong><\/a> talking about the NOW, the NEW, the NEXT in mobile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>90%<\/strong> of the time on mobile is spent on apps.<\/p>\n<p>Search \u2013 48% start on a search engine, 33% start on a branded website and 26% start in a branded app. So if you are only focused on optimizing for Google, you&#8217;re only appealing to half of consumer queries.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paid Advertising<\/li>\n<li>Online Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Integrated Campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Push Notifications<\/li>\n<li>Expanded Text Ads<\/li>\n<li>Promoted Pins \u2013 Google Maps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Where is mobile headed now?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wearable Devices<\/li>\n<li>Personally\u00a0 Predictive<\/li>\n<li>Voice Search<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But what happens after that?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smart Clothing<\/li>\n<li>Biohacking<\/li>\n<li>Modular Devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Takeaways<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile is here to stay.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize SEO, PPC &amp; social to promote growth online.<\/li>\n<li>Grow with your audience as technology changes.<\/li>\n<li>Stay current with technology news to stay ahead of the curve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Rock Talks are a lot like hitting &#8220;sample day&#8221; at your favorite store.
